Hand Therapy is a specialty branch of occupational & physical therapy that focuses on the evaluation and treatment of injuries or conditions affecting the hand, wrist, forearm, elbow, and shoulder.

Therapists with training in hand therapy have advanced education and clinical experience and have become proficient in the treatment of upper limb conditions resulting from trauma, disease, congenital, or acquired deformity.

A Certified Hand Therapist (CHT) is a hand therapist who has passed a rigorous examination, had extensive training focused on the upper extremity, and met the standards established by the Hand Therapy Certification Commission, Inc. (HTCC.org).

Hand Therapists/CHTs work closely with individuals to restore functional independence, reduce pain, improve motion and strength, and improve quality of life.
